I love this idea of "legacy". I so often find myself wanting to recoup the "reward" of faith now, but this passage reminds us that it may be years, even lifetimes, before the impact of my faith could be felt. I love that the passage begins with Abraham and Joseph, to echo our Covenant & Kingdom teachings in church. Faith is not always easy, in fact, it rarely is, but it is why we keep on trudging through, even in the hard times, hoping that the faith we have now will play out in the bigger story that God has intended. I feel that my immediate faith impacts my children, they are my present and future legacy, but I always pray that my legacy extends far beyond them as well. Now to just figure out what that "legacy" is. :-)
