In a bible study I was in a couple of years ago the discussion about the old and new came up and it was eye opening for me. We struggled with these "laws" that the old testament had and trying to follow them in our current culture. But as we discussed, we realized that Jesus came to set things new and our focus was to be on Him and the freshness He provided- not trying to follow all these old laws and traditions. He came to be the only One we need to follow.
I agree, Beth. And toward the end of this passage, it says “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more. Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin."
But I'm still discouraged when I mess up. How do all of you think God would have us feel when we sin?
